Yellow Trout Lily (Dogtooth Violet)
This yellow wildflower plant, Erythronium americanum, goes by many common names: Adder's Tongue, Trout Lily, Fawn Lily, Dogtooth lily.
Commonly found growing in shaded forest areas, the green leaves of the plant are speckled with brown. This Trout Lily is just beginning to bloom and the opening of the flower points directly to the ground.
