Kent City Michigan has a breeding population of Black leaf-footed Beetles which are
going at right now on a small ash tree. Apparently ants are attracted to the hormone smell as the tree is loaded with ants as well. These insect is unique with it's antenna tipped with orange.
IS this species harmful to the native plants in the area? Is it an introduced evasive species?
Have only noticed them this year, 2017
