The warmth of summer starts gives way to the chills of fall and leaves begin to change their color, less time will be spent outdoors.  With that, hopefully some more time for genealogy research be freed up.

It has been a busy and enjoyable summer.  Though in some ways it has been a disastrous few months, but things are coming together.

We are anxious to get the previous cemetery databases restored with photographs and to take a look at the 1940 census records.

Thanks to FamilySearch.org and the availability of Cuyahoga County Marriage Certificate/Applications images, we were able to add some new ancestors and confirm others.

We had no information about the parents of Katherine Stuhler (Stuehler), but her marriage application listed Peter Stuhler and Katie (possibly Katherine) Ramser as her parents.  Discovering more information about Peter and Katie may prove to be difficult because Katherine was born in Austria and may have never immigrated.

In addition, we were able to confirm the parents of Herman Henry Krieger.   His mother’s given name seems to has variations such as Marie, Mary, Maria and her surname is listed as Schimdt or Smith.  His father Carl (Karl) Krieger  appears to be pretty consistent through different documents.

After many years of research, it was great to break down a few brick walls and with some luck, more details about these ancestors can be uncovered.

After a number of failures (hosting company and personal hard drives) the site is back up and running, well almost…

There’s much work that still needs to be done with the gallery and genealogy sections.  These will take some time to complete.
Hundreds of photos will have to be added back in and the other major hurdle will be getting all the cemetery information back in.
